Welcome to the home of SongSmith Studios situated at the heartbeat of Bristol’s music scene close to the city centre with its music shops and many of the city’s finest entertainment venues all within walking distance

Studios is aimed at the budget market and singer / songwriters.  We use good quality standard equipment which enables us to keep our prices low yet still deliver top quality results.

We can also provide session musicians at competitive rates to bring out the full potential of your compositions as well as arranging backing parts and mastering the finished product.  Close links with other local businesses mean we can also provide everything from graphic design to CD pressing and even t-shirts!

SongSmith Studios is owned and run by local musician Quentin Burton (QJB) who has been active on the Bristol music scene for many years.  He is involved with many venues and bands as a musician and promoter.  He is also a trained counsellor and psychotherapist and so used to dealing with the delicate artistic temperament!

What our clients say …

Q is Uncle John and the Germans favourite promoter and soundman. We have worked with him on a number of occasions and have always been very impressed with his professionalism as a promoter as well as the sound quality of the PA at the gigs he has put on for us. The man can even make a mandolin sound good when miced up, which is practically impossible

What our clients say …

" Songsmith Studios gave me just what I wanted and needed, constructive feedback and suggestions, skilled engineering & editing and use of  first class equipment and facilities. I recommend them to friends. An ideal affordable resource for the singer songwriter who wants to get their work out there!"  Alistair Henderson Bristol-based singer / songwriter

Few musicians and bands can afford the luxury of their own sound engineer. More often than not we are at the mercy of a tired, underpaid and overworked house engineer who quite obviously doesn’t find your 'style' of music to their particular taste and therefore really doesn’t bother to give you any quality of sound. The first time Q mixed live sound for us it was quite obvious he was one of the rare and dying breeds of sound engineer who actually really cares about giving you a good sound and most importantly making sure you are happy. Regardless of musicality, style or instrumentation Q really puts his heart into what he does, puts you at ease and does all he can so both the performer and audience can enjoy.  Ruby Brown—Bath-based singer / songwriter who has just had Midge Ure remix one of her tracks so definitely knows what she’s talking about and is lovely too!

I really liked working with you and the relaxed( ie. shabby!!) atmosphere suits my anarchic taste so perhaps you will let me come back and perfect a track that I like enough to promote..and maybe isn't 6 minutes long!!!  Jess Wilks Chippenham-based singer / songwriter
